Fishing Tournaments in Cabo can be compared to the Superbowl of Fishing in Cabo. Each fishing tournament hosted in Cabo has its own unique flare that differentiates it from the rest. The most well-known tournaments in Cabo are the Bisbee’s, however, there are plenty of other fishing tournaments that take place throughout the year. Bisbee’s
Bisbee’s Black & Blue Tournaments have been going on in the Los Cabos area of Southern Baja for over 30 years. The Bisbee’s currently host three fishing tournaments, The Bisbee’s East Cape Offshore in Buenavista which takes place each July, and the Los Cabos Offshore Tournament and Black & Blue Marlin Tournament which take place every October in Cabo San Lucas.
Bisbee’s East Cape Offshore
In the year 2000, Bisbee’s added a tournament on the eastern side of the Baja California Sur peninsula with the East Cape Offshore Tournament in Buenavista. The small fishing town this tournament takes place in has similar charm to what brought people to Cabo many years ago. The tournament is smaller and more local and allows Cabo anglers to go fish some slightly different waters during the typically slower summer season. The East Cape Offshore includes Mahi-Mahi, Wahoo, and Tuna as well as Marlin. This is the right tournament for you if you would like a little escape from the hustle and bustle of Cabo but still want the excitement of a big tournament.
Bisbee’s Los Cabos Offshore
The Los Cabos Offshore Tournament was created in 2002. The Los Cabos Offshore takes place just days before the Black & Blue and nick-named the “Little Bisbee’s.” The Offshore Tournament is fun as it includes gamefish such as Mahi-Mahi, Wahoo, Tuna and Striped Marlin (release only) as well as the Black and Blue Marlins. Bisbee’s Black & Blue
The last tournament in the series, Bisbee’s Black & Blue Marlin Tournament, is hard to describe if you’ve never been there. It’s five days of fishing, partying, suspense, and excitement. The Marina fills up with people from all over the world trying to get a look at the massive Marlins rolling into the scales. Approximately two hundred boats participate in the tournament every year. The most exciting thing about the tournament is that it is really anybody’s chance to win, and the wins are BIG! In 2006 the Black & Blue had its biggest overall cash payout of $4,165,960. This was, and remains, the largest single fish payout in sportfishing history.

Pelagic Triple Crown of Fishing
The Pelagic Triple Crown of Fishing is one of our favorite tournaments here at Redrum. The Pelagic Triple Crown Tournament takes place during the summertime when the water is hot and almost every species is biting. It is a lesser-known tournament that takes place in Cabo, bringing in thirty-seven teams in 2022. Despite the number of teams, there is still plenty to be won in every category; In both billfish and gamefish divisions, last year’s fleet was geared up to claim their share of the over $480,000 in cash and prizes up for grabs.
Los Cabos Billfish Tournament
The Los Cabos Billfish Tournament is the unofficial kickoff for the Los Cabos Marlin fishing season. Being the first of the big October tournaments there is an excitement that has been built up all year long. This is the tournament for you if you’d like to try out your skills in one of the big tournaments or to tune up your skills for the Black & Blue.
Cabo Tuna Jackpot
The Cabo Tuna Jackpot is the last of the big fishing tournaments in Cabo and has been going on for 23 years. November is the best time of year to catch Tuna here in Cabo and it just so happens that this tournament directly aligns with that. November is also a great time for Cabo weather as it starts to cool down from the summer but the water is still warm. When you find the big school of Tuna during this tournament then its time to hope you bring up one of the big ones!
