A Day in the Life: What to Expect on a Cabo Fishing Charter

If you’ve never been on a Cabo fishing charter, you might be wondering what the day actually looks like. What time do you leave? What should you bring? And most importantly—what will you catch?

Here’s a step-by-step look at what to expect when you fish with Mar Vida Sportfishing:

1. Early morning departure. Most trips leave the marina around 6:30 a.m. You’ll meet your captain at our office, board your boat, and head out while the sunrise hits the horizon. The team will already have rods rigged, bait, and lunches waiting.

2. Head to the fishing grounds. Depending on the season and your target species, your captain will navigate to the best area—offshore for marlin or tuna, inshore for roosterfish or sierra. You’ll often see dolphins, sea turtles, or even whales along the way.

3. Lines in and action begins. Once on location, the crew sets the lines and the search is on. You’ll troll, cast, or jig depending on what’s biting. If the bite is hot, you could be reeling in fish within minutes.

4. Breaks, snacks, and beers. Our boats come stocked with drinks, lunch, and shaded seating. You’ll have time to relax between hookups and enjoy the ride with music, cool drinks, and unbeatable ocean views.

5. Head back with your catch. After a successful day on the water, the crew will take you to get your fish cleaned and fileted right at the dock. You can take it to a local restaurant or bring it back to your villa or resort or we freeze if for you to take back home!

Whether you’re a seasoned angler or just looking for a fun day on the water, fishing in Cabo with Mar Vida is an unforgettable experience. Let us show you how it’s done—local style.
